# Quick take

* Everyone will start with over 200 free cards.
* The game will be **fully playable** with the free cards 
* However, you may benefit more from owning cards. Find out why [here](https://synergyofserra.gitbook.io/the-compendium-of-serra/the-game/why-own-cards).
* The free cards are from the **Starter** and **Base** Sets, these cards are not NFTs.
* **Higher quality Base Set** cards can be acquired through crates and/or the marketplace, they **are NFTs**.
* The **Transcendent** **Set** cards are only available through crates and/or the marketplace, they **are NFTs**.
* There are:
  * 6(TBA) different **Starter** Set cards; 
  * 66 different **Base** Set cards; and
  * 34 different **Transcendent** Set cards. 
* A **card explorer** will be released following the Crate Opening Event.
* Card **rarity**: Common 70%, Rare 24%, Epic 5%, Legendary 1%.
* Card **quality**: Painted Metal 84%, Bronze 10%, Silver 5%, Gold 1%.
* All Base Set cards are **Common**.
